[this is good]
i knew you flipped the image right away... or shot through a mirror. do i get my props now? :o)

i suppose i could understand a church not wanting a check cashing liquor store to open up shop next door but for a nice restaurant to not serve alcohol seems over the top. But it also doesn't sound like the opposition is too strong, good for you for fighting for small business!
Props to you, Sean! Not exactly sneaky, but I did flip it in Photoshop before uploading to flickr.

The funny thing about the Shiloh/Queen of Sheba business is that there is a liquor store right across the street from Shiloh and a Giant that sells wine & beer on the other corner. Shiloh also apparently opposed Vegetate (another restaurant) getting a liquor license, but Vegetate eventually won out.
How unexpected that we both live (and blog) in neighborhoods that feature Ethiopian restaurants named Queen of Sheba. Is this name the default for each city as east African equivalent of, say, 'China Star'?

Shiloh seems like quite the community pests, judging from their anti-development efforts.
DC actually has quite the Ethiopian community--enough to have an area colloquially referred to as "little Ethiopia." I guess the Queen of Sheba is an important figure in Ethiopian history if restaurants across the country are named after her!
Their music-playing website has a "History" section which explains the significants, or at least, the hullabaloo surrounding the historical figure it is named after:
